Job Overview

The Data Center Escort (EDCT) plays a critical role in maintaining the security and integrity of the data center by supervising and monitoring all visitors, contractors, and vendors during their presence inside restricted areas. This role ensures compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and access control standards.

Responsibilities: 

• Escort and supervise visitors, vendors, and contractors within secured areas of the data center.
• Verify and validate visitor identification, access authorization, and purpose of visit.
• Ensure that all non-cleared personnel follow security, EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), and operational protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of escorted individuals, activities, and access times.
• Monitor work performed by vendors/contractors to ensure no deviation from approved scope.
• Report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches immediately to the Data Center Operations team.
• Assist with enforcing site-specific policies, such as no-camera, no-food/drink, and PPE requirements.
• Support emergency response and evacuation procedures when required.
• Collaborate with security and operations teams to maintain high standards of compliance and safety.

Requirements:

• Education Requirement:
  • Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level / SPM / High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • At least Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma/Degree Information Technology or equivalent.

• Skills Requirement:
  • Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Physically fit to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain alert, attentive, and vigilant during long escort duties.
  • Willingness to work in rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays if required.
• Preferred Skills & Certifications (Optional but Advantageous)
  • Prior experience in data center, security, or facility escort roles.
  • Basic knowledge of IT equipment (servers, racks, cabling) to better identify unauthorized actions.
  • Familiarity with access control systems and visitor management tools.
  • First Aid / CPR certification. EHS / Workplace Safety certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle challenging situations calmly.

Salary Pay:
RM1,800 to RM2,400
Contract length 3-6 month
