Job Overview
The Finance/Accounting Consultant will provide specialist advisory and implementation support to a portfolio of clients, including multi-entity organizations operating across various jurisdictions. The Consultant will be responsible for designing, establishing, and optimising accounting standards, financial control frameworks, and reporting structures for clients – particularly those in sensitive or regulated industries.
This role combines technical expertise, hands-on execution, and strategic financial advisory. The Consultant may be deployed across multiple client engagements depending on business needs.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Financial Governance & Standards Advisory
- Evaluate existing accounting frameworks and financial processes within client organizations.
- Develop, document, and implement client-specific accounting policies, internal controls, SOPs, and governance structures.
- Ensure client compliance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
- Recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, scalability, and regulatory readiness.
- 2. Financial Reporting & Consolidation Support
- Support clients with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Provide advisory and hands-on assistance in preparing consolidated financial statements for multi-entity client structures.
- Design reporting templates, charts of accounts, and financial statement layouts tailored to client needs.
- Conduct variance reviews, quality checks, and financial diagnostics.
- 3. Financial Modeling & Strategic Analysis
- Build financial models for budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, project evaluation, and cash-flow management.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to support client leadership teams in strategic decision-making.
- Assist clients in understanding financial drivers, risks, and performance indicators.
- 4. Operational Finance Process Setup & Enhancement
- Establish or streamline finance processes such as AP/AR workflows, treasury management, expense controls, and intercompany transactions.
- Implement best practices to improve financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Provide on-site or remote training to client finance teams on newly adopted processes or systems.
- 5. Compliance, Audit Preparation & Risk Advisory
- Assist clients in audit preparation—reviewing schedules, documentation, and audit trails for both internal and external audits.
- Liaise with clients’ auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies when required.
- Identify financial control gaps, risks, and compliance issues; propose appropriate mitigation measures.
- 6. Systems Implementation & Technical Enablement
- Recommend suitable accounting or ERP systems based on client size, complexity, and regulatory environment.
- Support clients during system implementation, including setup, configuration, testing, and user training.
- Develop Excel-based tools and interim reporting solutions where necessary.
- 7. Cross-Country Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with client teams across multiple countries, ensuring alignment of financial processes and standards.
- Provide guidance on local statutory reporting, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Build effective working relationships with client stakeholders including finance, operations, legal, compliance, and management.
- 8. Training, Knowledge Transfer & Advisory Support
- Conduct training sessions on financial controls, accounting standards, system usage, and reporting practices.
- Ensure effective knowledge transfer to client teams to sustain improvements after engagement.
- Provide ongoing or periodic advisory support depending on client service agreements.
Requirements:
- Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Skills Requirement:
- 8–12 years of finance, accounting, or advisory experience, ideally with multi-entity or cross-border clients.
- Experience in sensitive or regulated industries is highly advantageous.
- Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and major regional GAAP (e.g. Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, etc).
- Advanced Excel modeling (forecasting, dashboards, financial simulations; VBA a plus).
- Proficiency with common ERP systems (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Dynamics, Xero, etc.).
- Ability to design processes, controls, and reporting structures from the ground up.
- Soft Skills
- High level of professional integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
- Analytical, meticulous, and structured in work execution.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet tight deadlines.
- Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel 25–50% based on client deployment needs.
- Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with client teams.

Salary Pay:
RM16,000 to RM22,000
